Hello (1st Post)

I'm going to try and remember to keep this blog updated! And change the graphics and colours too!

Right, ok, hello.

I'm Michael, or Mikey, whichever I don't mind as long as it's clear you're talking to me. I'm do a variety of audio things, from recording, sound design, mixing, editing, composing, all sorts of things. This blog should be relatively up-to-date following whatever I get up to, hopefully it should be fun to read too.

I write things as I'd say them, you might have guessed that so far...

Ok, well here's a quick catch up from when I left uni until now -so the past four or five months I guess.

I left uni, De Montfort University in Leicester (I'll talk more about uni in other posts, probably) in June following the technology degree show. I passed university with a 1st Class (hons) degree in Music Technology and Innovation which is really cool.

Then, I was sent a project to mix -"When London Slept... It Came Alive" by FireFly Productions UK. Here's a link to their website, you can see some of the things they're doing. The feature length film is coming to a close really soon so you'll be able to watch and enjoy it. You can read more about the film here. I'll talk more about this project when it gets closer to the release.

I've been taking picture and making my own video projects to compose some music to, you can have a look at my excellent youtube channel, TheMightyTree, to check those out if you so desire.

I guess I've been job hunting for the last few months, I've not had any luck with a permanent job so far but if you're reading this and have a position in your audio department or something, please get in touch...

And finally, as I've noticed there's a lot of dull looking text above, I've been writing some music for a friend's video. More info on that when the video is finished.

I'm sorry, I've not really said anything detailed so far. More info to follow in the next blog I suppose. And if you're reading this, let me know, it's always nice to know someone's out there!
